Lieutenant Kevin Kalmus of the Austin Fire Department has won the Company Officer of the Year award as chosen by FireRescue magazine.
This national award will be presented this summer at the Fire-Rescue International Conference in Atlanta, Georgia.
Lt. Kalmus has been a member of AFD for almost 12 years. According to AFD, he was chosen for his leadership, innovative training, incident command effectiveness, commitment to safety, interpersonal communication, and community involvement.
