AUSTIN -- Austin's police chief has suspended an officer for three days following a crash last November.

According to a disciplinary report, Officer Steven Cardella struck another vehicle after running a red light while responding to an aggravated robbery call.

At the time, Officer Cardella was driving a marked car but did not have his siren on when he went through the intersection where the crash occurred.
