Bronze sculptures can cost a pretty penny. It's clear to see why when you learn what goes into making these works of art.
Yvonne traveled to Bastrop to check out "Deep in the Heart Art Foundry" – one of the largest bronze foundries in the country. Casting is a labor intensive process that takes a lot of skill and a lot of hands. Owner Clint Howard gave Yvonne a crash course in the process.
From wax pulling to chasing and spruing there are a lot of steps. Oh, did you know that the bronze is melted at nearly 2,000 degrees? Yvonne put on her Kevlar chaps to find out just how hot it gets.
