AUSTIN - Garth Brooks' free show at Auditorium Shores sold out within minutes. And with all the hype surrounding the South by Southwest show, it's expected to be quite crowded in the surrounding area Saturday evening.
Here are some options for getting to the show before Brooks takes the stage at 8 p.m., courtesy of officials with Austin Transportation:
For those with SXSW badges and wristbands, the shuttle is taking people from the Austin Convention Center to the Outdoor Stage throughout the day. Go here to track them.
Although they fill up fast and and rates vary, drivers can park at the following garages:
- Palmer Event Center at 900 Barton Springs Road
- Austin Convention Center Garage at 201 East 2nd Street
- One Texas Center garage at 505 Barton Springs Road
Park and Ride
Drivers may park at the Texas Capitol Complex located at 1100 Congress Avenue all day Saturday. Parking may also be available at the Capitol Visitors Garage for a fee.
MetroRapid bus routes servicing the SXSW Outdoor Stage include 801 and 803. Routes 1, 5, 7, 10, 20 and 30 will also take bus riders within walking distance of the stage. Go here for more details.
Bike parking is located on both sides of the venue, so be sure to bring your lock.
Those coming from Downtown Austin can take the Pfluger Pedestrian Bridge across the lake and get to the stage entrance from the West side.
