Real estate tycoon Donald Trump officially purchased Trump National Charlotte -- which is actually in Mooresville -- about a year ago for roughly $3 million.
Since then, Trump has invested millions more into renovations of the club house, added a ball room, plus lengthened and widened the course.
"It's the best golf course in North Carolina," said Trump. When asked if he felt it topped iconic courses like Pinehurst or Charlotte's Quail Hollow, he said, "It's better. It's better than Quail Hollow. I have friends who are members of places like Augusta National and they love my course here."
Trump said the course remodeling is about "80 percent complete," noting the greens still must be replaced.
The reality TV star said he is currently talking about the possibility of making another major purchase in North Carolina -- though he didn't want to comment further on the record.
