PORTLAND -- The Festival of Flowers wrapped up Tuesday at Pioneer Courthouse Square and the flower sale began Wednesday morning.

The theme for this year was "Tattoo Portland." Nearly 20,000 begonias, impatiens, pansies and more were arranged in the shape of a giant heart with a Portland banner over it. The design was created by landscape architecture firm Lango Hansen.

The art was displayed for two weeks, and the flowers go on sale at 8 a.m. Wednesday. The four-inch flower pots are $1 each and black mondo grass will be sold for $3 per pot.
