AUSTIN -- Tennis great Andy Roddick is devoting more time to his philanthropic efforts now that he has retired from the court.
Friday night he and his wife Brooklyn Decker hosted the 7th annual Andy Roddick Foundation Gala.
The event began at the W hotel and was followed by a performance by John Legend in the ACL Live Moody Theater. Supporters Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves were among those on the red carpet. Event sponsors included SAP software solutions and Grey Goose Vodka (can you say "after-party?").
The Andy Roddick Foundation works to develop and inspire underserved youth through education and sports-based mentoring. The foundation recently announced plans for a new sports and learning center in East Austin. The campus on FM 969 is also home to the award-winning Kipp Austin public charter schools, which is a beneficiary of the foundation.
