AUSTIN -- A few events in Austin this week and weekend will close some major roads. The City of Austin has released a list to help drivers find alternate routes.

Downtown

The Austin Film Fest will be held Oct. 24-31 on Congress Avenue, and the Texas Book Festival will be held on Congress Avenue Oct. 26-27 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • Starting at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24, Colorado Street will be closed between 11th and 13th Streets until 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28.
  • Starting at 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 25, the northern part of Congress Avenue and 11th Street along the Capitol grounds will be closed to cars until midnight Sunday, Oct. 27.

Other events taking place this week that will affect traffic:

  • The Austin Stone Worship Conference will be held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23.
  • The Austin Symphony Kinder Concerts will be held Monday, Oct. 28 through Tuesday, Oct. 29 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Run for the Water 10 Mile/5K/Kids Run will be held from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 27
  • Texas-Sized Pittie Pride Parade from noon to 1 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 27.
  • La Dolce Vita Food and Wine Festival is 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24.
