We know Austin is a place where something is always going on. Sometimes it's hard to figure out what fun events are taking place, so we're here to help! 

Take a look at what's going on around town Friday, Sept. 6 through Sunday, Sept. 8.

Friday, Sept. 6

  • Free music at Central Market on Lamar 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. More information.
  • Free movie in the park at Cat Hollow Park in Round Rock 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. "Rise of the Guardians" will be played. More information.
  • Free movie in the Park at Elizabeth Milburn Park in Cedar Park. "Madagascar 3" will be played 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. More information. 

Saturday, Sept. 7

  • Rainbow Run 5K 9 to 11 a.m.
  • Austin PRIDE at Fiesta Gardens 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Buy tickets at the gate. More information here.
  • Austin PRIDE Parade at 8 p.m. Event is FREE and travels down Congress Avenue and 4th Street (the floats are amazing!) More information here.
  • City-Wide Garage Sale at 10 a.m. at Palmer Events Center. Go here for more information.
  • Round Rock Market Days 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Main Street. More information. 
  • Free music at Central Market on Lamar 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. More information.

Sunday, Sept. 8

  • 'Donate a Phone, Save a Pet' drive at Austin Pets Alive! through Sept. 17. All electronics (even if they don't work!) can be donated (including laptops, tablets and mp3 players). The money for each device will be donated to APA! Visit Austin Pets Alive! for drop off locations and hours.
  • Screening of Asleep at the Wheel documentary "On Screen and On Stage" at 7 p.m. at the Long Center. Tickets are $29. More information and tickets. See our interview with Ray Benson here.
  • City-Wide Garage Sale at 11 a.m. at Palmer Events Center. Go here for more information.
