Anheuser-Busch’s “Brotherhood” ad featuring a Clydesdale horse and his owner won the top spot in the 25th Annual USA Today Super Bowl Ad Meter, the publication announced early Monday morning.
Panelists gave the winning ad a score of 7.76, which is on a scale of 0 to 10. That barely beat Proctor and Gamble’s Tide brand ad, which finished second with a 7.75 rating.
In celebration of the 25th anniversary, USA Today expanded the vote to more than 7,600 panelists who voted on more than 50 ads that ran during the game.
Here are the top five ads with their final ratings:
1. Anheuser-Busch – Budweiser Brotherhood 0 7.76
2. Tide – Miracle Stain – 7.75
3. Ram – Farmer – 7.43
4. Frito-Lays Doritos – Fashionista Daddy – 7.27
5. Jeep – Whole Again – 7.20
USA Today created the Super Bowl Ad Meter in 1989 to gauge consumer’s opinions about the most expensive ads on television.
