ROUND ROCK – Some of the Baseball Diamonds and Soccer Fields at the Old Settlers Park in Round Rock are giving rise to a spectacular Christmas Lights show.
The "Rock'N Lights Tour" is a first for the city of Round Rock, offering drivers a view of two million lights from the comfort of their vehicles.
“Everybody loves to look at Christmas lights at home so we thought what a great idea it would be to do an actual lights show through one of our premiere parks,” said Roger Heaney, a spokesperson with the city of Round Rock.
Heaney told KVUE that the entire light show took nine months to prepare and cost about $375,000.
The cost to go on the 1.5 mile path lined with Christmas lights, some of them animated, is $15 per vehicle.
“The whole thing leads into our Rock'N Lights Village which features Santa photos, a full array of rides, all sorts of great holiday food to eat. Just creating a big, carnival, family-atmosphere," Heaney said.
The "Rock'N Lights Tour" begins at 6 p.m. every night including Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The spectacle’s last day is December 31st.
