AUSTIN -- A Central Texas family now has a new home, thanks to this year's Home for the Holidays home build.
Each year, KVUE teams up with Habitat for Humanity and State Farm to give one family in need a home just in time for the holidays.
This was the 5th Home for the Holidays built and it was dedicated to its new homeowners on Friday.
Gabriel Perez got the keys during a dedication ceremony. He and his two kids will be moving in this weekend. The family moved to Austin from Cuba 10 years ago. Perez didn't speak English and had now home, car or job. He and his children have been living in a one-bedroom apartment.
Perez has put in more than 400 hours working on other Habitat for Humanity homes. This means he qualified for a home of his own.
Volunteers who have worked extremely hard to get the home finished were also recognized in Friday morning's ceremony.
