AUSTIN -- Hundreds of bikers bundled up on Sunday to deliver truckloads of toys at the Helping Hand Home for Children.

The home is a place for kids who have suffered severe abuse and neglect. For the past 25 years, Austin area motorcyclists have collected toys to give to these children during the holidays.

"[We're] really happy to be able to do this and fill a void that they've got with funding and supply them with gifts that last throughout the year," said event organizer Bobby Lasseter.

"For the kids in the home, it's the sound of hope, because every year, these bikers are here in rain, sleet or snow to support the children, and it means a lot to us," said Ted Keyser, executive director of the Helping Hand Home for Children.

The annual toy drive was founded by "Big Dan" Simmons of the Austin area motorcyclists. There's even a plaque honoring him at the children's home.
