DALLAS - Mumford & Sons announced they were canceling shows in Dallas, Houston and New Orleans after a blood clot was found on the surface of bass player Ted Dwane's brain, according to a statement on their website.

According to the site, Dwane felt ill for several days before visiting a hospital, where they discovered the clot. Dwane will undergo surgery and the statement said a quick recovery is expected.

Shows canceled include tonight's event at the Gexa Energy Pavilion in Dallas, a Wednesday show in the Woodlands and a Thursday show in New Orleans. The site said the band plans to reschedule each show and believe they will be ready to resume their tour as scheduled on June 15 in Manchester, TN.
