Rachel's Challenge is a program which aims to stop bullying in schools and create an atmosphere of kindness among students. It was started in honor of Rachel Scott, the first student killed in the 1999 Columbine High School massacre.

Her father and founder of Rachel's Challenge, Darrell Scott, spoke to KVUE about the impact Rachel has had on others after death, her love for reading and how Rachel's Challenge hopes to impact the lives of students across the nation.

Rachel's Challenge will hold a free event Thursday from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Austin Country Club at 4408 Long Champ Drive. Registration begins at 4:45 p.m.
