As an all volunteer non-profit organization, "For the Children" strives to provide basic school supplies to nearly 65,000 eligible students, pre-K through fourth grade, in 10 area school districts.

Through its partnership with KVUE, this annual drive allows Central Texans to help school children from families that qualify for the free or reduced lunch program, to receive necessary school supplies.

KVUE's staff of meteorologists urge Central Texans to make cash donations to "For the Children." "For The Children" purchases school supplies in bulk. This approach ensures your donation goes further while still providing quality supplies. One hundred percent of the funds donated are used to buy school supplies.
