The holiday shopping season kicks into full swing next week. This may be one tool to help you save some money.

Decide.com uses technology to help shoppers decide when and where to buy items. They showcase deals on new electronics, appliances, and home and garden equipment.

According to the founders this is not about marketing ploys, they use a “patent-pending machine learning and text mining algorithms on billions of price points across millions of products, blog posts, and articles on the web to enable shoppers to make the best buying decision possible.”

The website compares products from the same category with the highest ratings and highest Decide scores and tells you the best time to buy to get the best deal possible. You can even set an alert so that you can be notified when Decide thinks the price is the best it will get.

Here’s the really cool deal if you purchase the product from the lowest price seller and the price drops within two weeks, Decide.com pays you the difference.

I checked some of the products to see if I found better prices and it varied.

Decide found the Cannon Powershot 12 digital camera for $230 at Amazon, but I found it on Amazon for less than that -- $205.

Decide.com found the Cuisinart DCC-1200 Brew Central 12-Cup coffeemaker for $60 at Macy's. Sears sells it for $60 too. Amazon.com has the same coffeemaker for $69.
