Many people hate tax time, but there may be some good news about taxes this year. The IRS reports that through March 12, the average tax refund was a record $3,036, up $266 from the same period a year earlier.
The reason? According to an article in USA Today, it's partly because of the tax credits included in last year’s economic stimulus package.
