With all of Toyota’s problems I thought it might help to have some perspective offered by Edmunds.com earlier this week.
The online car resource company compared automakers based on the number of complaints they have filed at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and how many cars they’ve sold.
According to the database Toyota ranks 17th overall, Honda 16th. “Toyota was the subject of 9.1 percent of the complaints from 2001 through 2010 (through February 3). During this period, the company sold 13.5 percent of all new cars in the United States,” the study found.
Edmunds analysis puts Land Rover at the top of the complaint list, followed by Suzuki, Isuzu, Volkswagen and Jaguar. See where your car company ranks here.
