Parents are being told to check to make sure they don’t have certain baby bracelets or pacifier clips made by Allreds Design because the clasps contain high levels of lead. Lead is toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health effects.
So the company and the Consumer Product Safety Commission is recalling 900 baby bracelets and pacifier clips sold at various retail stores and consignment shops from June 2008 through December 2008 for about $5.
The bracelets are sold in 0-6 months, 1-4 years and 4-8 years of age. The baby bracelets and pacifier clips have crystal and plastic beads in various colors with a metal clasp. Be sure to check out the pictures of the clasps.
Allreds Design says a 10 month old child was treated by a physician for elevated lead levels.
If you have any of these you should take these away from your children immediately and call Allreds Design at (866) 695-3551 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. ET Monday through Friday for a free replacement.
