Up until now you had to drive a GM vehicle to get and use the OnStar service. That will all change this spring.
At the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas OnStar announced it will launch service that can be added to 99 percent of the top selling vehicles out there on the road. You’ll have to buy a special mirror for about $300 and pay a monthly fee that starts at around $19, but then you’ll get the same service GM owners have had for years.
The OnStar service provides you with directions, automatic crash response and even has an option to work like a hands free phone device. It’s expected to be available sometime in March.
