Kind of like a kid learning to ride a bike without their hands, a startup company has launched a new app that allows people to truly text without their hands. You don’t need to punch a single button to use this new application called Start Talking.
Adela Voice designed the new app, which is only available for Android phones right now. It will create and send text messages, even read incoming messages aloud to you without so much as a look at the screen. It pretty much runs in the background and listens for a voice command keyword. Once you say the key word you start talking.
Like the many voice mail functions on your phone you to have to set up the contacts you’d like to be able to connect with ahead of time. There’s a suggested, an all and a group tab.
I’m not sure if all of these new types of apps are a benefit to all those people who are still texting and driving or still a distraction. But at least with this app there really is no need to punch a number or even look at your phone.
You can download the app to your Droid here. It should be available on other mobile devices soon.
