There’s a new way to monitor the way you and those in your family drive. State Farm just launched a new Driver Feedback app.
It pretty much turns your phone into a pocket-sized coach. This video shows how it works.
The app is for the Android, iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. You activate it on once you get in the car. The program measures three driving behaviors: acceleration, braking and cornering providing a score and a log of potentially dangerous driving activities or risky behavior.
Once you get back home, the program maps out where your potential dangerous driving activities occurred and provides you a score as well as tips to make you safer. It even has the ability to track multiple trips (up to five) to track your progress.
According to State Farm, the agency does not collect information from the app, it stays with you. The idea is to make you more aware of when you are displaying dangerous behavior.
