The IRS has a new way for you to check the status of your tax refund or get other information about your tax return through your smart-phone with an app called IRS2Go.
It’s available for both the iPhone and the Android.
You do have to provide some basic information in order to check on the status of your tax refund. That means your social security number, which the IRS says will be encrypted for security purposes.
If you e-file you’ll be able to access the information within about 72 hours after the IRS receives your form. If you file paper returns you’ll have to wait three to four weeks.
