Everyone loves a freebie. Kiplinger’s Magazine put out a list of some of the best freebies people may not now about. The best thing about some of these is that they save you money others can help you make some money. Here are some of my favorites from their list:
Free Car Repair Help
I’ve written about this here before, but think it’s worth another mention. Repair pal.com is a terrific way to look up any repairs you may need to have done to your car and see if you’re being quoted a fair price. You just plug in the make, model and year of your car and the repair and get a range in price. You can also search for a repair shop on this site. You won’t find quotes for all of the items you may need to repair but there is a place to ask a question and get an answer.
Free tech support
I didn’t know this but apparently having a membership at Sam’s Club or Costco allows you to get free tech support even if you didn’t buy the device at their store. You can also check out Tech Support.org. This is a volunteer, donation based site that allows people to ask questions about problems they may be experiencing and get some guidance.
5 Star Support.com is another site recommended by Kiplinger’s. This site even has a list of some of the most frequently asked questions.
Free portfolio checkup
This is a terrific tool that allows you check to see how your portfolio is performing. It’s Morningstar.com’s Instant X-ray tool.
You enter the ticker symbol of the stock or mutual fund you own and how much you hold and it will tell you how it’s performing as well as its potential future growth.
Kiplinger also has its own free service to help you find mutual funds you might want to add to your portfolio.
