Whole Foods Market at Lamar and 6th hosts free live music every Thursday, from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. The above schedule highlights performers from October 4 through December 27, 2012, but the store calendar lists "Live at Lamar" every Thursday, including this week.
This weekend is the Georgetown/Round Rock Just Between Friends sale. This is a giant children's and maternity consignment sale. It takes place at the Georgetown Church of Christ off Highway 29 and DB Wood Road. The sale runs Friday from 7am to 8pm, Saturday from 8am to 3pm (this is the half price day). Free museum visits

Prescription Take Back
This Saturday, September 29th is National Prescription Take-Back Day an effort to collect and safely dispose of unused, unwanted prescription medications. In Williamson County you drop off medicine at Texas Baptist Children’s Home 1101 North Mays in Round Rock, Taylor City Hall parking lot at 400 Porter in Taylor and Scott & White Health clinic parking lot at 4945 Williams Drive in Georgetown. Leave all medications in their original containers if possible. Here’s what you can bring: expired or unused prescription medications; unneeded over-the-counter medications; medicine from deceased. Teen Book Festival
On September 29, 2012, the 4th annual Austin Teen Book Festival will host 36 of the most popular and critically acclaimed young adult fiction authors. Austin Teen Book Festival, presented by The Austin Public Library Friends Foundation and sponsored by BookPeople, will be held at the Palmer Events Center from 9:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. More than 4,000 attendees are expected this year at this event, making it the largest teen book festival in the country. And, to make it even more amazing, the festival is free!
The St. Elias Mediterranean Festival is the oldest continually running food and culture festival in Central Texas. This weekend, help celebrate the 80th annual MedFest on Friday, September 28, 2012, from 6 - 11 p.m. and on Saturday, September 29, 2012, from noon - 11 p.m. at the St. Elias Orthodox Church (408 E 11th Street). Named one of Central Texas' Top 10 Food Festivals by the Austin Chronicle, MedFest features music from the Greek band LAAND, shopping in a Mediterranean Bazaar, and face painting, games, and more for kids. And don't forget the food! Festival-goers can gorge on kefta, kibbee, falafel, souvlaki, gyros, spanakopita, Romanian kabobs, and more, including ethnic coffee, ice cream and libations. Tickets for the festival are available at all Twin Liquors locations for a $5 donation, and once in, tickets for food and activities are available for purchase.
