Free skin cancer screenings

The American Society for Dermatologic Surgery has put together a list of dermatologists across the country offering free skin cancer screenings. Just go here, type in your zip code to find a participating doctor near you.

Free movies

The Austin Public Library system offers free family movie nights. The next movie for Windsor Park airs July 6th.

Free shake

Austin’s Mighty Fine Burgers is celebrating July 4th with free red, white and blue shakes. It’s a layered shake with strawberry, vanilla and blueberry shakes. Stop by between 2pm and 6pm on July 4th and get one free. There are three different locations in Austin.

Free sandwich

Arby's wants to help you celebrate the holiday weekend so on Monday, July 5th you can get a free Junior Delux sandwich when you purchase a beverage.

Kids eat free

Remember IKEA is offering free kid meals through July 5th. Kids under 12 can receive up to three kid-sized items free.

Pizza deals

Domino’s is teaming up with the Capital Area Food Bank for a food drive. So between now and July 25th customers who donate one or more cans of food will receive a large one-topping pizza for $5.99, carry-out only. On July 24th and 25th customers who bring in two or more cans of food can get a one-topping medium pizza for $3.99, carry-out only. This is good at all Austin area Domino’s pizza locations. Free bowling for kids

Several bowling centers across the country are offering free bowling to kids all summer long. There are several across Texas, but only one Austin area location and that’s in Marble Falls. But you can go here to find participating locations all across the country. Thanks Sarah for the tip!

Free ice cream

Ben & Jerry’s is hoping to reward people who volunteer. So look on this web site for an organization in your area to volunteer then print off a coupon for some free Ben & Jerry’s ice cream. You can also pass on five volunteer coupons to your friends and get them to give back.

Celebrate your Independents

As we head into the July 4th weekend it's a great time to celebrate the many independent businesses here in Austin. So below you'll find some of the terrific deals being offered by locally owned businesses.

  • Summer Vacation deal - The Mansion at Judges' Hill is having a summer special through September 6th. Book a two night stay and get it for the price of one. You've got to book by July 17th and make a reservation for no later than July 31st.
  • July 4th decorations - The Little Penguin Party Shop is a locally owned business located at 2149 S Lamar Blvd and is offering 50 percent off American flags and 20 percent off July 4th decorations.
  • Summer sale - Shoeboxes Boutique is another locally owned shop located at  2438 West Anderson Lane. They've got super cute clothes and shoes and they're having a summer sale and you can save between 20 to 50 percent on all spring and summer clothes and shoes.

Kid Sales

Babies ‘R Us stores are having a 20 percent off any one regular priced baby product sale through July 3rd.

 Toys“R”Us is also having a summer sale that lasts until Saturday, July 17.

You’ll find savings up to 75% on toys, clothing and shoes store wide. You can also take an extra 25 percent off wood and metal gym sets, clearance pool and water items, clearance board games, figures and play sets. There will also be buy one get one 50 percent off on Crayola Outdoor chalk and paint, Star Wars figures, playsets and accessories, Transformers figures, playsets and accessories, Fisher-Price Loving Family Doll House accessories, Hot Wheels cars, playsets and accessories, Playmobil products, Fisher-Price Little People Toys.

And on Sunday July 4 and Monday July 5 the store will also have ice cream sandwiches and soda selling for 25 cents. Thanks Linda for the information.
