Free kid meals

IKEA is offering free kid meals from June 23rd through July 5th. Kids under 12 can receive up to three kid-sized items for free.

Chipotle is launching a new Kid’s menu. So every Sunday starting June 27th through July 25 (excluding July 4th) when parents purchase a burrito, salad, burrito bowl or order of tacos you get a free kid’s meal. Thanks to Kathryn for the tip!

The kids menu includes:

• Small Cheese Quesadilla ($2.95) – a classic favorite with kids – is served with a side of rice, choice of beans,  small bag of chips and a choice of organic plain milk, organic chocolate milk, apple juice or a soda.
• Small Meat & Cheese Quesadilla (3.50) – a small meat and cheese quesadilla served with a side of rice, small bag of chips and a choice of organic plain milk, organic chocolate milk, apple juice or a soda.
• Single Taco (3.50) – a single crispy or soft taco filled with three items from the line (one naturally raised meat or guacamole, and two other ingredients from the line, like salsa and cheese) served with a small bag of chips and a choice of organic plain milk, organic chocolate milk, apple juice or a soda.
• Taco Kit (they build it) ($3.95) – With this unique twist, Chipotle is invites children to get creative with their food.  Kids choose any three ingredients (one naturally raised meat or guacamole, and two other ingredients from the line, like salsa and cheese) and two crispy or two soft taco shells.  This option also comes with a small bag of chips and a choice of organic plain milk, organic chocolate milk, apple juice or a soda.

 Restaurant savings

Restaurant.com is offering 80 percent off their already discounted gift certificates with the code SUMMER. This would make a $25 certificate just $2 and a $10 certificate just $0.80. Certain restrictions do apply to these gift certificates. Offer is good through 6/24/10.

Free Concerts

Each Sunday throughout the summer the Austin Symphony offers up free family fun concerts. Pack a picnic and enjoy the music at the Hartman Concert Park, Long Center, 701 W. Riverside Drive. The concerts start at 7:30pm. This week features Big Band music.

And don't forget the KGSR free concerts at Zilker Park called Blues on the Green. The next one is Wednesday, June 23rd featuring Carolyn Wonderland. They continue every other Wednesday through August 18th. The shows start at 7:30pm. This year’s artists include Austin favorites Texas Tornados, Carolyn Wonderland and Alejandro Escoveda. Splash movies

Deep Eddy Pool offers up a cool refreshing way to enjoy your summer with its movie and a swim nights. They call is splash movies. The next one is Saturday, June 26th and features Raiders of the Lost Ark. The movies start at dusk.

Free dance lessons

The Austin Public Library offers free salsa lessons each weekend.

Discount Meals

You’ve all probably heard about the various Restaurant Week promotions across the country. Austin already had its in February and March. However this week Yelp is doing its own promotion called “Yelp Eats”.

Unlike the Restaurant Week promotions these are dinner only specials. You do need to make reservations and you should request the Yelp Eats menu. You can go here to check out the menus for yourself. Through Sunday, June 27th all across the country restaurants will offer price fix menus for $25 or $35. Here’s a look at the Austin Restaurants taking part.

Southwest Airlines is having a huge sale in honor of its 39th birthday. You’ll find fares as low as $39 one way.

You’ve got to book by June 24th and the deals are good for travel from September 8th through November 17th. You’ll find lots of places to travel from Austin.
