This week you'll find all kinds of tax day freebies, restaurant savings, travel deals and more. Thanks to everyone who's been sending me savings. If you ever have any deals worth sharing send me an e-mail.

Tax Day Freebies

There are lots of tax day freebies.

  • Free burgers and fries -- Carl's Junior will be handing out free burgers to people dropping off their taxes at the Post Office on 8220 Cross Park Drive in Austin from 5pm to midnight.
  • Free Coffee -- If you bring a reusable travel mug into Starbucks on Thursday, April 15th, you’ll get a free brewed coffee.
  • Free slice of Ice Cream Pizza -- Maggie Moos is offering what it likes to call an e-”cone”-omic relief day. The idea is to help you enjoy some relief this tax day, April 15th by giving away free slices of its ice cream pizza from 3 to 7pm. They have stores across the country including one in Round Rock. To find one near you go here.
  • Free Cupcake Bites -- Cinnabon wants to sweeten up your tax day so they’re giving away free cupcake bites from 6pm to 8pm.
  • $10.40 deals -- McCormick and Schmick’s is having a Tax Relief Celebration on April 15th again this year. Come in and enjoy $10.40 food and drink specials at the bar. Anyone who eats at the bar also gets a complimentary gift certificate worth $10.40 for their next visit.
  • Free Massages -- Hydro Massages is really hoping to take the stress out of tax day by giving away free Hydro Massages Thursday, April 15th through Sunday, April 18th. There are several places across Texas offering this. You can find participating locations here. You will want to call ahead to schedule an appointment.

Dine out for a cause

This is a great way to make your money go further. Or to enjoy some savings and help a good cause. All week through Friday, April 16th The Lunch Deal.com is offering different lunch deals and March for Babies which is a big fundraiser for March of Dimes will get the donations. Just sign up using your e-mail and you will get e-mail notices each day of the various offers. Most are 50 percent off deals. You can use the discount coupon any day – you just have to purchase it on the day it’s offered.  Thanks to Zakiya for letting me know.

She also told me Sonic is donating partial proceeds from all Sonic Chillers to the Austin Division of the March of Dimes. Find a Sonic near you here.

Free Park entrance

Starting Saturday April 17th through Sunday, April 25th you can get free entrance to the 392 National Parks across the country. It’s part of National Park Week. It’s a great excuse to get out there and enjoy the beauty we have all around us.

Free movie ticket

Hershey’s is offering a deal where if you purchase four bags of candy you can get a free movie ticket. You have to buy the candy, mail in the UPC codes then send four copies to the address here, then they’ll send you a free movie ticket. This deal expires August 31st. You have to fill out some information on line to get a form and that means you have to give some personal information like your address, e-mail and phone number.

Free internet safety kit

The Polly Klaas Foundation is giving away free internet safety kits. They help parents teach children about abduction prevention without scaring them. It includes two Fingerprint/ DNA ID documents to record all of your child’s personal information. It takes between two and four weeks to get it in the mail.

Free sitter finding help for military families

During the month of April the Department of Defense is paying for military families’ membership to Sittercity

It’s a service that helps you find baby sitters, after school care, hourly care, school vacations, special needs children even pet care. So if you know any family serving in any of the four branches this is a great way to get some free help. This site provides background checks, references and more. Most people have to pay for this service. But again if you’re in the military you’ll get it free for the month of April. You’ve got to go to this web site.

Thanks to Mary for letting me know.

Restaurant savings

Restaurant.com is offering 60 percent off gift certificates through April 15th. Just use the code word TREAT before you check out to get the savings.

Free Bagel Fridays

Remember Einstein Bros. Bagels is giving away a free bagel every Friday until 11am through May 22nd. Just go to this offer page and print off the coupon. You can find a location near you here. You have to have the coupon to get the deal. If you become a Facebook Fan the company also tells you when you can score other savings throughout the week.

Appliance rebate purchase date

For anyone lucky enough to secure a rebate reservation, you can begin buying your energy efficient appliances starting Friday, April 16th through Sunday, April 25th.

Six Flags savings

Here’s your excuse to act like a kid. Six Flags will let any adult pay kid prices through October 11th, all you have to do is bring in a pack of Stride gum along with this coupon.

Travel deals

  • Jet Blue is having a great 10th anniversary sale. Some flights are as little as $29 one way. Most of the fares from Austin are more expensive than that, around $99 one way to places in California. You’ll find most of the best fares in the middle of the week, but it’s worth a check if you’ve got any plans to travel.
  • Southwest Airlines is also having a “Summer’s on the Horizon” sale. Some airfare is as little as $59 one way. You’ve got to purchase by April 15th and the deals are good for travel through June 23rd. There are black out dates for Memorial Day weekend (May 27th – June 1st).
