This week you’ll find lots of family fun deals, music, movies and more. Enjoy!

Family Fun

Remember the Austin Symphony holds concerts in the park all summer long. This coming Sunday, July 14th you can hear a woodwind concert. These free ensemble concerts take place in the Hartman Concert Park in front of the Long Center City Terrace and start at 7:30pm.

Texas Parks & Wildlife is hosting free fishing classes to help encourage kids to spend more time outdoors. The program called “Go Fish” teaches the basics through fun, hands-on activities. All the equipment is provided. The kids also have a chance to win some prizes. Learn more about the program here. To see a list of the upcoming locations go here.

Children’s Day Art Park-  This week the ever popular Children’s Day Art Park includes the music of the Biscuit Brothers. These family friendly events take place most Wednesdays at 9:30am. For just 50 cents per child, kids and adults experience the arts at Symphony Square, 1101 Red River Street. The programs feature local musicians, dancers, storytellers, magicians, mimes and crafts. Youngsters can visit the Instrument Petting Zoo (where they can see, touch and try to play the instruments), talk to symphony musicians and hear them play their instruments, and try their hands at different art projects under the Art Tent.

Nature Nights: Snakes- This one is just for Tyler Sieswerda (he hates snakes) Thursday, July 25 from 6-9pm the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center is hosting its latest Nature Nights free summer events. Families can learn about Central Texas nature topics through engaging activities and guest experts. The events are FREE thanks to H-E-B.  Admission is also free the day of Nature Nights

The events are free, all-ages, open to the public, and will fall on alternating Wednesdays through August 21. This Wed. July 31: "School of Rock"

This Wednesday July 24th you can enjoy an Austin summer tradition out at Zilker Park. The free KGSR’s Blues on the Green concert this week includes the music of The Gourds with Shakey Graves.
