This Wednesday May 29th kicks off an Austin summer tradition out at Zilker Park. Enjoy free music courtesy of KGSR’s Blues on the Green concerts. This week you can hear the music of Alpha Rev with Wild Child. The concerts take place every other Wednesday. You can get more information too by texting "BLUES" to 29217 to get access to exclusive contests and information sent to your mobile device regarding KGSR's Blues on the Green.
93.3 KGSR's Unplugged at the Grove kicked-off its 20th Anniversary season last Thursday. This week, Thursday, May 15th you can enjoy the music of Charlie Mars. Remember every Thursday through September 19th you can visit Shady Grove on Barton Springs Road. Free fishing classes
Texas Parks & Wildlife is hosting free fishing classes to help encourage kids to spend more time outdoors. The program called “Go Fish” teaches the basics through fun, hands-on activities. This is one of those free fishing events: Each June, the City of Pflugerville partners with the KidFish Foundation, Inc to offer a free, outdoor fishing opportunity for kids. Children age 16 and under are invited to attend this year's event on Saturday, June 1, 2013, from 9 a.m. - noon. Registration will be held onsite. KidFish and Texas Parks and Wildlife have stocked additional fish in Lake Pflugerville to boost kids' fishing experience at the event. Saturday, June 1st is National Trails Day. Dozens of state parks will offer guided nature hikes from short, family friendly hikes geared toward beginners to trecks of up to seven miles. Most of the National Trails Day state park events are at no extra charge, but regular Texas State Park entrance fees will apply. As always, children ages 12 and younger receive free park admission.
