This week you'll find lots of free family fun activities, some terrific picture savings and some Labor Day sales. Enjoy!

Family fun

Remember this Sunday is the first Sunday of September so that means the Bullock Texas State History Museum is free for families from noon until 6pm. One of the cool exhibits for kids 5 and up is the Remarkable Sharks from 3:30 to 4pm.

The city of Cedar Park is holding a party for families and their pets at the Cedar Bark Park from 10am to noon Saturday, August 31st.  It’s the Beneful Play date. They’ll be all kinds of fun activities for pets and their owners. For directions and information go here. Thanks Jennie!

There’s another free movie and concert courtesy of Do512 and the Alamo Drafthouse this Wednesday, August 28th. This week you can watch Back to the Future and hear a concert with Hello Wheels playing hits from the 1950s and 1980s. The concert starts at 8pm followed by the movie. This is the final event of the Austin Sound & Cinema summertime series and takes place at the Long Center City Terrace.

Thursday, August 29th is another KGSR Unplugged at the Grove night. You can hear the music of Shakey Graves and it’s free. The music begins at 8pm at Shady Grove on Barton Springs Road.

The Austin Children’s Museum is holding its last Community Night for a while this Wednesday, August 28th from 5 to 8pm. This is the final week to visit the museum at its current downtown location. It will close September 1st and won’t open in Mueller until December 7. Admission to these community nights is by donation – it’s suggested $1 per person.
