Dairy Queen is giving away buy one get one free coupons for blizzards to anyone who joins the blizzard fan page on Facebook. The coupons will be sent to you July 13th.

Free music concerts  

KGSR’s Blues on the Green concert series continues this Wednesday, July 6th with Marsha. If you haven’t taken advantage of these concerts you are missing out. They are a terrific treat for the entire family and take place every other Thursday at Zilker Park.

KGSR also puts on free concerts every Thursday at Shady Grove as part of the "Unplugged at the Grove" series. This Thursday, July 7th you can enjoy the Trishas. You can see the full schedule here.

  • How to Train Your Dragon 3D (PG) - 11 a.m. Children age 3 and over will be allowed at all screenings of this show. No infants however, and families with loud children will be asked to leave.  Alamo Drafthouse Village. Free!

  • Surf's Up - 6 p.m. Hyatt Regency Austin, Southwest Bistro.  Hyatt Regency Austin invites families to get the most out of the sun-filled weekend with Summer Cinema Dinner and a Movie Fridays and Saturdays at 6pm. Discover great family fun this summer season with family-friendly movies in Southwest Bistro's mini-theater. Lounge on comfy bean bag chairs and picnic blankets and order a delicious dinner from the full menu at Southwest Bistro.  Free!

Lindsey sent me some fairly new bargain sites worth checking out. They include: Bargain Jack (http://www.bargainjack.com), Bargain Jill (http://www.bargainjill.com) features deals for women that are between 50 and 75% off, and One Day Buys(http://www.onedaybuys.com) . PC Magazine named Bargain Jack a Top 10 Deal Site. Thanks Lindsey for the tip!

  • Visit your local Chick-fil-A® on Friday dressed from head to hoof in cow attire and you'll receive a FREE meal (breakfast, lunch or dinner). If you're too chicken to go all out, don't worry – those in partial costumes will receive a FREE entrée.
  • Doubletree hotels is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the chocolate chip cookies by launching a nationwide cookie CAREavan tour. It will stop in Austin at Zilker Park Monday, July 11, the Cookie CAREavan tour, part of, will stop in Austin at Zilker Park, at the front entrance of Barton Springs Pool(2201 Barton Springs Rd), to hand out free chocolate chip cookies from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.  Following the event at Zilker Park, the tour will head to Dell Children's Medical Center to give out cookies to children and employees at the hospital.
