This week you’ll find all kinds of freebies and holiday deals. Enjoy!
Free Personalized Message from Santa
Here’s a way for you to get in touch with Santa and have him send a personalized video message to your child. It’s really cool. You supply your child’s first name and the town where they’ll be for Christmas. This year there are also options for what you’d like your child to work on, what they want for Christmas as well as if they’ve been good. Then Santa does the rest. He sends you an e-mail with the finished video. This will really make the holiday special for your little one.
- Amazon.com is offering 25 days of free music downloads. Each day you can download a new free Christmas song. But you have to go to this site every day to see what song you can download.

- Music for Little People is offering 10 free children’s music downloads. You’ll find everything from Rock-A-Bye-Baby to If you’re happy and you know it.

Gift card freebies
I found this terrific link that shows you what kind of freebies you can get when you purchase certain gift cards during the holidays. This is a great way to make your money stretch even further or to give an added gift to someone.
Restaurant savings
Restaurant.com is offering 80 percent off gift certificates from December 7th through the 12th. Just use the discount code JOY before you check out. So the $25 gift certificates which normally sell for $10 can be purchased for just $2.
Free food
Check out the Local Foods Holiday Gift Fair at City Hall on Wednesday, December 8, from 4 - 8 p.m. to enjoy free sampling and live music by Bel Cuore Quartet. Meet more than two dozen local foodmakers and buy local products for making your own custom holiday gift baskets with locally made treats from the best of Austin’s local food artisans. You can also bid on artisan-select, pre-made baskets. This event is hosted by Better Bites of Austin.
Thanks Heidi from Free Fun in Austin for all the tips!
12 days of sharing
Starbucks is offering a new deal in its 12 days of sharing promotion. You’ve got to log on to the web site or sign up for the e-mail alerts to find out what’s being offered each day. But there are some pretty good deals if you’re a coffee lover.
Holiday luminaries event
The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center will be decked out in more than 3,000 luminaries and 5,000 twinkle lights this weekend. So they are putting on a free puppet show, holiday food, lighted trees and more. It’s a free event, but they do ask that you bring two canned goods for the Capital Area Food Bank.
Bastrop Christmas Celebration
Bastrop has a fun filled Saturday planned. There's a lighted Christmas parade this Saturday, December 11th which features over 100 floats and cowboys on horseback. Businesses there will also have a big saleabration with street shopping on Main and Pine Streets. It's all sponsored by the Downtown Business Alliance.
We aren't all lucky enough to be at Oprah's Favorite Things giveaway show. So Oprah is giving away some of her favorite things. She actually titled this her 12 day giveaway but since she started this on November 28th you only have a few more chances to win. Go to her website and enter the code you see for that day, then your information. If you don't want to get stuck with her magazine or get additional e-mails, click "no" on those links. You can enter every day through December 10th.
