This week you’ll find lots of Veteran’s Day deals for veterans and active duty military members and their families, some great family bargains and even something to get you ready for the holidays. Enjoy!

Veteran’s Day freebies

  • Krispy Kreme is giving away doughnuts to all active duty and veteran military members on November 11th. They can choose from more than a dozen different varieties.
  • Veteran and active duty members eat free at Applebee’s on November 11th. You must eat in.
  • The Outback is giving away free Bloomin’ Onions and a beverage to all veterans and military members on November 11th.
  • All National Parks are waiving their entrance fees on November 11th in honor of all veterans.
  • The Brides Across America program is giving away free wedding gowns to military brides. There are only a handful of boutiques offering this deal and it is on a first come first served basis. There is a bridal shop in Fort Worth offering this deal November 10th and 11th and one in Houston offering it on November 11th. You can see the full list here.

Free workouts for military

24 hour Fitness is offering to let veterans and military members workout free through November 14th. You can find participating locations here.

Free fun in Austin deals

This is a site I’ve been telling you about for weeks. Heidi, a local mom, puts it together and this week she has some terrific deals for holiday shows you and your family may be interested in attending. So check it out.

Astronomy night

The Wildflower Center’s astronomy nights draw 500+ people to enjoy beautiful fall weather and night stars, and this Friday night should be no exception. Friday, November 12 from 6 to 9pm families can learn how much they’d weigh on Jupiter, watch movies on the ceiling of a 12-foot tall inflatable planetarium, hear astronomy talks, look for stars and make astronomy crafts. Costs $1 for non-members. Thanks to Barbra for the tip!

Shrimp savings

Whole Foods is having a one day shrimp sale. On Friday, November  12th you can get the medium-sized (31/40) tail-on cooked shrimp for $5.99 – that’s half off the everyday price. Thanks Ashley! You can also go to this web site to find some easy shrimp recipes.

Christmas light trade in

I know it’s hard to believe Christmas is only … days away. But look in any store and you’ll see decorations galore. Home Depot is running its Christmas light trade in program again this year. Bring in any of your old lights through November 14th and get $3 off a new LED set of lights. There’s a limit of five per customer.

Restaurant savings

Restaurant.com is offering 80 percent off through November 15th. Just use the code word GIVE before you checkout. This means the $25 gift certificates which normally cost $10 can be purchased for $2.

Travel savings

Southwest Airlines is having a cold weather travel sale. You’ll find fares as low as $59 one way. You’ve got to book by November 22nd and travel between December 1st and February 16th. There are blackout dates between December 17th and January 3rd. But from Austin you can fly to Las Vegas for as little as $150 one way.
