This week you'll find all kinds of food and Halloween freebies and great deals for the whole family. Thanks for all the tips. Remember if you have a suggestion or a deal let me know.

Free cookie

Great American Cookie is celebrating National Cookie Month all month long. I wrote about this last week during the kickoff. But if you missed the kickoff you can still get a free cookie throughout October when you donate a new or gently read book to your local participating Great American Cookies store.  You’ll find a complete list of participating stores here. All books collected will be donated to a local public library or charity.

One day Massage Deal

Eversave Austin is a daily deal site that often pairs up with charities to offer deals. Today, Wednesday, October 6 and tomorrow, October 7 you can get a Cherry Blossom Massage for $55. It’s normally valued at $105, but here’s the best part a percentage of the sales will be donated to Hope & Love 4 Kids in Kyle, TX.

A percentage of the sales proceeds from the deal will be donated to Hope & Love 4 Kids in Kyle, TX.   Thanks to Tom for the tip! This may be a site you want to bookmark. They have terrific deals every day for our area.

Free meal

IHOP is running a Facebook promotion. Hit “like” on their page and sign up your e-mail and on your birthday and on the one year anniversary of you signing up you’ll get a coupon for a free meal.

Free printable pumpkin carving stencils

This is a terrific time of year to decorate pumpkins. But if you’re stumped never fear Better Homes and Gardens is offering free printable pumpkin carving stencils to help you out. You’ll find everything from the spooky to the funny. Just download them set them over your pumpkin and get carving.

Coffee Deal

Starbucks is offering a free TALL drink of your choice when you buy a six pack of the new Via Ready Brew coffee October 6 through the 9th at participating Starbucks stores.

Babies ‘R Us and Toys ‘R Us deals

Babies ‘R Us is launching a new benefit to the Rewards ‘R Us loyalty program. Families who register can receive loyalty credit for all qualifying purchases friends and family members make from their registries. This means as more items are purchased from their registries, moms-to-be can earn extra coupons, discounts and perks, such as free diapers and formula, which can be used to purchase items they may not have received or to stock up on essentials for baby.

Also this year building on the success of last year’s event, Toys“R”Us has partnered again with LEGO Systems, Inc. to reconstruct “Bricktober” at Toys“R”Us stores nationwide and online at Toysrus.com. Transforming October into “Bricktober,” customers will find a LEGO celebration at Toys“R”Us stores throughout the month, highlighted by weekly specials on LEGO products, a special Racing event, dedicated boutiques filled with LEGO sets and more.

Thanks to Linda for the deals.

Accessory Sale

Francesca’s is having a sale on accessories. You can take an extra 40 percent off already marked down accessories Thursday, October 5 through Sunday, October 10.

Kids eat free

Every Friday through Sunday in October kids eat free with a qualifying adult entrée purchase at Mimi's Cafe. You’ll need to print out this coupon and bring it with you.

Free information for parents

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has some terrific pamphlets and publications about child growth and screenings, hearing problems even a growth chart that you can request. These make terrific gifts for new parents or your play group friends.
