A popular hammock-like baby bed is being recalled after two infants die.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission is recalling 24,000 Amby Baby Motion Beds. In June 2009 a four month old girl in Lawrenceville, GA died. Two months later a five month old boy from Gresham, OR died.

The problem is the bed can swing side-to-side causing the infant to roll and become entrapped or wedged against the hammock’s fabric and/or mattress pad.

Ambybaby.com and other internet retailers sold these beds from January 2003 through October 2009 for about $250.

If you have one of these stop using it immediately and call (866) 544-9721 between 9 a.m. and 5p.m. ET Monday through Friday or visit the firm’s Web site  for a free repair kit.
