This morning the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced a recall of 134,215 Infiniti cars because of problems with the air bags.
The recall affects 2005-2007 Infiniti G35 Sedans and Infiniti G35 Coupes. According to the NHTSA the wire harness connecting the seat belt tension sensor and the sensor that detects a passenger under the front seat may wear causing an interruption of the signal. That means the air bags may not deploy in a crash.
Nissan has yet to provide a remedy, but the NHTSA is asking car owners to call them with questions or concerns. The number is 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153).
Remember you can sign up to receive recall notices on cars, tires and infant car seats which are all handled by the NHTSA, here.
