Ali was sad and confused this week.  Probably because ABC has taken her and her suitors on the most random trip around the world ever.  I mean come on...Iceland, Turkey, and Portugal?!  Are London, Paris and Rome out of season? Been overdone? Or did ABC get a discount from the travel agent who needed to help push tourism in these other random countries?  Don't get me wrong...they all look amazing.  I'd love to have dinner in the rainbow castle, but I don't know many people who dream about going to Lisbon.  Maybe they will now.  Besides not knowing where in the world she is...Ali was also struggling with where she stood emotionally in her relationships with the remaining five guys.  Each had something special to offer, but she seemed confused as to what she was looking for.

Her first date was with Roberto.  I think it may have been a mistake to start things off with him.  I think she has the best connection with him and struggles to get him off her mind when she's with the other guys.  Roberto is always sooo romantic.  He seems to sweep her off her feet and dance with her in the streets.  Then she's forced to come back down to earth to go out with the other guys.  They never stand a chance.

Her second date was a two on one date with Frank and Ty.  Always tough for Frank to share.  He's like a 3 year old with ADHD.  Mine... Mine! And yet he seems to test her the most during their one on one time.  He's very selfish and needs attention constantly.  This show was definitely not the best idea for him and I don't think Ali is the best girl for him either.  He needs someone who is going to reassure him that he's the one and there is no one else who could ever take his place.  I think Ali needs a guy with a little more confidence and a little more faith in the strength of their relationship.  However, I don't think Ty is the right guy either.  Ali is very fixated on the fact that Ty is looking for a more "traditional" relationship and Ali knows that she's not a "traditional" kind of girl.  She probably should have let him go last week rather than dragging out the inevitable and grilling him on the reasons behind his divorce yet again.

Kirk had the most romantic date.  They took a horse drawn carriage up to a castle on the hill.  Everything would have been perfect if Ali's mind had been focused on the date.  She was a little distracted with everything that had been going on.  She finally has started to realize that this whole dating five guys thing is a little harder than she thought it would be.  Luckily Kirk was able to reel her back in with a romantic roof top dinner and profession of his feelings for her.  I think they make a cute couple...but she'll always have to wear flats.

The final date was with Chris.  It's hard not to love Chris.  He's a good guy, he's super sweet, and he misses his momma.  How do you not love that guy?  But Ali is having trouble finding the sparks in their relationship.  I'm not sure that Chris is quite ready for a deep emotional commitment, but giving Ali the bracelet and showing her more of his vulnerable side was definitely a step in the right direction and it was enough to get him to the hometown round of the Bachelorette.

It was no surprise that Ali sent Ty home in the rain.  The only surprise was that he didn't see it coming.  I think that if he was truly honest with himself, he would have to admit that Ali wasn't right for him either.  He already had one marriage end because he chose someone who's values didn't match his own...he should try not to make that mistake twice.

........

This is a two for one blog week, because after Ali said goodbye to Ty in the rain, Chris Harrison announced the end of yet another relationship....Vienna and Jake.  This was no real surprise to anyone that watched the last season of The Bachelor, but what was surprising is what a jerk Jake turned out to be.  Though I believe that Vienna is very immature and is sure to be annoying, I think we all saw a side of Jake that we have never seen before...a mean side.  Vienna described in great detail that the relationship she had with Jake started going downhill after only a month of dating.  She claimed that he withheld affection and treated her like a child.  He said that she was constantly undermining him and interrupting him when he spoke.  I think it was probably somewhere in between, but I definitely think Vienna made the right decision to get out.  I think that fame has changed Jake and anyone who doesn't want to "do it" anymore after the first month of dating, probably isn't someone you want to marry.  If it sucks now....it's only going to get worse.  And from what I could see...there was no sign of anything going up in that relationship anytime soon!
