Well he chose Catherine. I didn't see that one coming. Considering that a few episodes ago it seemed that he was about to vote her off, I'm quite shocked to see her with the rock on her finger in the end. I guess their love truly developed over time.
I will admit that the proposal was pretty sweet. Her reaction was probably more genuine than anyone I have seen on the show. With her hands shaking and a look of surprise on her face, Sean Lowe got down on one knee to ask Catherine to marry him and she said, "Yes!" I guess I should have known she was the "winner." She was wearing the gold dress and Lindsay was wearing the silver. It's like the producers wanted it to be clear who was in 1st and 2nd place.
My favorite part of the show was when Lindsay took off her shoes to take the walk of shame back to the limo. I would have felt better if she had thrown one of them at him, but the fact that she was "over it" enough to just take off her shoes and march back to the car was priceless. I really liked the way she handled the situation. She seems like a very "normal" girl, and I hope she is able to move on and find someone great.
I was sort of hoping that the letter was from Lindsay's dad letting Sean know that if he hurt his daughter, he'd come after him. But unfortunately it was just another example of Catherine "passing notes" to Sean. I'm glad he was sweating it for a moment thinking that he might have been left at the alter after dumping Lindsay, but thankfully for Sean it was just another love letter letting him know how much Catherine loved him and wanted to spend her life with him.
During "After the Final Rose," Sean and Catherine announced that they were ready to get married on television. Chris Harrison made it clear that he was an ordained minister, and if they wanted to he would marry them right then and there, but they declined. I'm sure they'd rather have the big lavish wedding on ABC's dime than an elopement on the love seat. Maybe if they hurry they can put it together before May sweeps, because it is all about the ratings!
My second shock of the night was the announcement of Desiree as the Bachelorette. I was sure it was going to be AshLee. I mean she already got her new 'do and everything! Maybe she screwed up on the "Women Tell All" by telling a little too much about what went on in the "fantasy suite." What happens in the fantasy suite is supposed to stay in the fantasy suite. Either way, I think I'm actually happy it's Des. AshLee's crazy eye seemed to start peeking out towards the end of the show. She may be better off on her own. Let's just hope Des brings a muzzle for her brother or at least gets him some coaching before letting him meet another bachelor. Otherwise, I'm afraid Des will wind up with nothing but the elephant at the end of her season.
