Mr. and Mrs. Not So Right

Well I have to say that the aftershow was much better than the actual show tonight. Could Emily move to Austin today....No! Could Emily marry Brad today...No! "Sweet little Emily can be tough" and apparently Brad is no angel either. I guess it should be a warning sign when the guy's family asks you if you've "poked the bear" and they don't mean that in a sexual way. They were warning Emily that Brad had a bit of a temper. However, I don't think Emily is quite the same little angel in real life that she portrayed on the show either. Emily admitted that she didn't think this was going to be the "Let's Watch Brad and Emily Fall in Love Show", but she was quite shocked that Brad gave them SOOOO MUCH MATERIAL to work with. I have to say that my gut hurt when I saw Chantal getting into the limo to go see Brad. By that point in the show, I knew she was about to get slaughtered. It was painful to watch. I really hate the way these girls are dragged along. I can't even imagine how difficult it must have been for her to hear Brad say that he knew pretty early on that Emily was the one. I also can't imagine what it was like for Emily to hear that and then have to watch how far he took things with the other girls. As she put it, "I thought that he would have saved those things for me". I will say that Emily didn't exactly make it easy for Brad. I think that he will always feel like he will be in Ricky's shadow to some extent and he will never be little Ricky's real father. He'll probably spend his life trying to please her and somehow hoping that she will love him as much as she did her first love. Poor guy couldn't even catch a break on that final night when he was trying to reassure her that he was in it for the long haul. The conversation went something like this: "Emily I want to be with you. Are you sure Brad? It’s not always fun, it's not always easy to raise a 5 year old. Did you not hear me say YES! I SAID YES! DAMNIT WOMAN! I WANNA BE YOUR BABY DADDY! Are you sure…I mean what does that mean to you? What if she gets sick? Are you going to go to the emergency room or hang out in your bar? What if she gets run over by a tricycle or slips on jelly beans? It’s hard. Are you sure you're ready for this? I GET IT EMILY! GEEEEEZUS! SHUT UP AND MARRY ME." Okay, so it wasn't exactly like that, but you get my point. Poor Brad is laying his heart out there for the first time in his entire life and she's not buying it. She's not throwing her arms around him and saying thank you, I love you, I want you to be there for me and my daughter. She is sitting there questioning him about whether he REALLY gets it. I can see why he got "hot" over it. I'm sure he felt rejected. My real concern is that she may always make him feel that way. What I was most frustrated with was her lack of emotion towards Brad. Chantal cried every time she talked to him and professed her love for him over and over. I can't imagine how hurt she must have been. But not Emily, she would just pat him on the back or put her hands on his checks and smile. No tears...not even during his heartfelt proposal. Who is this frigid woman? Cry Woman! Cry! She seemed so sweet and innocent all season and then BAM! It's a good thing Brad said she is worth changing for, because he's certainly going to have to in order to make that relationship work. For Brad's sake, I hope they have a happy ending. I'm afraid that Brad has a really bad case of puppy love and if this girl dumps him on his butt, he may never recover. And now that Chantal has already fallen in love....AGAIN...God that girl works fast...it's not like he has a plan B to fall back on and Chris Harrison already said that there will not be any third chances. I guess he'll have to take a shot at "The Bachelor Pad". Let's hope it doesn't come to that. Good luck Mr. Womack! I hope there is a Mrs. Womack in your future.
