Drama Kings

I have to say that this week’s episode seriously stressed me out.  These dudes are terrible.  I’m beginning to think that this show has been going on for too long.  Everyone has started to look at this show as a launching pad for their career and not a launching pad for love.  Ben said that he felt like the producers needed to be careful about who they were sending home, otherwise they would wind up without the next Bachelor…they “missed out on the single dad from Texas”.  He even went as far as to say hi to Hollywood then asked how long he had to wait before being seen with other women in public, because he “didn’t want to wait”.  And then finally asked if they could go drinking as his limo drove away!  I don’t agree with the aggressive “gladiator-style” way that Michael went after Ben on the two on one date.  I actually thought that Michael was going to ruin it for himself, but when he told Des that Ben was hoping to grow his bar business as a result of being on the show, I think it was a turning point for Des.  Ultimately she knew if this group of guys hated Ben that much, there must be something wrong with him.  In Michael’s words, he was found guilty of “fraud and impersonating a southern gentleman”.

Chris won the first one on one date in Germany, which was beautiful and romantic up until Bryden decided to ruin it.  Apparently Bryden didn’t get his jealous need for attention out of the way before coming to Germany.  The long plane ride gave him extra time to think and he decided that his feelings just weren’t progressing fast enough, so he decided to leave and go home within hours of arriving in Europe.  That dude never should have gotten on the plane if he wasn’t feeling it.  What a waste of time and money.  And poor Chris had to spend the rest of his date trying to make Des feel better.  Though I believe they made a connection, I’m afraid that her head wasn’t completely in it.  If it wasn’t for that poem, all hope might have been lost.  Thankfully he’s cute as hell and a romantic.  Des may have sent home a dud, but she got a stud.

As if there wasn’t enough drama this week, the men decided to reveal yet another snake in the grass.  Kasey and Drew apparently overheard James and Mikey talking about life after the show and James made it clear that he was hoping to make it to the top four so that he could become the next Bachelor.  Seriously?!  There is no way James would make it as the next Bachelor.  He’s too much of a macho meat head.  What is he going to do with his dates…make them watch him lift weights and go tanning?  He could make it to the final two and he wouldn’t become the next bachelor.  For Kasey and Drew’s sake I had hoped that they would leave it alone and let Des figure it out on her own, but according to the promos for next week’s episode that is not going to happen.  I hope she sends James home and I hope James makes it on the next season of Jersey Shore instead.

The biggest surprise of the night for me was Zach’s confession on the mountain.  Apparently Zach has actually been to this exact same spot in Germany before.  Ten years ago, he went there after college to clear his head and realized that he did not want to become a priest!  After discovering that he would no longer have to spend his life alone, he then went off on his journey to find love, which has now brought him back to this exact same spot with Des.  Well if that isn’t fate…I don’t know what is.  I mean Des did say that he was a great kisser.  I haven’t seen him as a front runner, but after this week of drama he may have a better chance than I thought.

This week was full of unusual dates…from the hot tug boat ride with Michael and Ben to the yodeling and downhill sledding…you never knew what train wreck was about to happen.  I can’t wait to see what adventures are in store for these boys in Spain.  Tune in next week and bring a helmet.
