With so many difficult decisions to make, it’s always nice to have the fantasy suite around to bring clarity to one’s relationship. As Chantal said…what happens in the fantasy suite stays in the fantasy suite. Whether you’re getting it on in a tree house, holding hands and cuddling with all of your clothes on, or fighting all night with a confused little girl…it’s the perfect way to find love in South Africa. Now I thought that maybe Chantal was a goner when Brad and an armed guide walked her down to the river for a picnic. I was sure that if the hungry hungry hippo didn’t get her, the safari man was going to shoot her for sport, but apparently she passed the “eat the worm” test, so she was allowed to sleep in the tree house with Brad and go at it like monkeys. I don’t think anyone was really surprised that she was moving on to the hometown date. She’d been talking about it for weeks. Emily’s date however, was not so exciting. The elephant was the only thing Emily had any intensions on riding as she was trying to set a good example for her 5 year old daughter. If she hadn’t dropped the “L” word, I’m not so sure she would have made it to the final round. Not a lot of guys get turned on by holding hands and drinking wine in a room filled with rose pedals. Maybe she let him get to 1st or 2nd base once the cameras were gone or maybe they just had a tickle fight and ate hot fudge Sundays. Who knows, but she must have done something right, because she’s headed to Cape Town to meet momma Womack. Little did Brad know that he would go from his date with a woman who has a child, to a date with a woman who was acting like one. Poor little Ashley…she just shut down on their date. I don’t know how you get this far on the show without ever having a conversation about your future, but the girl had to know that moving to Austin was pretty much the only way the relationship was going to work. It’s not like Brad is going to give up everything and go to Maine. Ashley is still in school. She can be a dentist anywhere. Brad is fully vested in Austin and for her not to even list Austin as a possibility for where to move after graduation, that was kind of a nail in her coffin. She really showed her age with her whole attitude of “let’s just go with it and have faith”. She said it herself that Brad is looking for a wife that fits into his life. She may think that it’s unrealistic to think that a relationship could be that easy, but I believe that it is. I think relationships are built on two things…chemistry and good timing. You can’t make it work without both. Brad never denied his feelings for Ashley, but he made it clear that they are in two different places in their lives and it would be too difficult to make that relationship work. Brad may want to be that person in Ashley’s life that helps her find balance and learn to open up, but I think he’s better off with Emily and her 5 year old. At least when she pouts and throws a tantrum, it’s still considered cute….with Ashley it’s just annoying. Tune in next week for “Welcome to the Jungle – The Bachelorettes Tell All”. I can’t wait for crazy Michelle.
