Isn’t there some kind of screening process for The Bachelorette? If they ask a Bachelor about their past relationship and the guy starts the sentence by saying, “Me and my cousin…” that should be the end of the screening process. Seriously?! How did Alessandro make it on this show? I can’t believe he even made it to the cocktail hour. If I were one of her friends, I would have called “CUT! Get this dude out of here!” It would have saved Emily a lot of time and that extremely awkward conversation about how he would have to make a compromise to fit her and her daughter in his life. Weird dude! Glad she sent him packing. The second clue that you should send someone home is if they have a name for the egg that they are carrying around. “Shelly” may have made her way to the sidewalk, but I think Emily should have sent Travis on his way as well. I will give her friend some props for asking him, “Did you fertilize it yourself?” That still gives me a chuckle. I’ve never really understood why it’s necessary to have couples scale buildings to prove their love for one another. It just seems uncomfortable and no one feels sexy with a wedgie. That’s probably why Chris decided to give Emily a high five instead of a kiss at the top. I’m really surprised that Emily finds Chris’ age a “red flag”. Last time I checked, her luck with older men hasn’t exactly been great. I think that Chris is a good man and he could be good for her. And seriously…he’s only one year younger than her. It’s not exactly an Ashton and Demi situation. Nothing says love like Dollywood. At first I really didn’t see the sparks between Emily and Arie. I thought she was more in love with Dolly…but then again…who doesn’t love Dolly? But as the date went on, there connection seemed to grow. Maybe she just likes the idea of being with a race car driver again. Time will tell if this guy has what it takes to go the extra mile. And last but not least….what is the deal with all the live music? I started to think I was watching American Idol. Every week there’s some new band playing…sometimes two. Are they trying to make Charlotte the new LIVE Music Capital? Sorry peeps…that title is already taken. I guess we’ll have to tune in next week…I’m sure the first date will be on stage at the CMA’s.
