AUSTIN -- What will it take to inspire the next generation of community leaders? One local organization believes in nurturing the compassion in young people that leads to committed philanthropy in adults.

A Legacy of Giving aims to empower children through philanthropy education -- guiding youth to engage in improving their communities. The nonprofit organization recently held a Day of Service event in 36 area schools, coordinating efforts to collect canned goods and coats for the Capital Area Food Bank.

You can get your own dose of inspiration and motivation while supporting A Legacy of Giving's programs. Friday Feb. 28 is the Blue Sky Luncheon at the Four Seasons Hotel. Dedicated to helping others ignite their creativity, author Kevin Carroll will provide the keynote speech. Check out his TedX talk here.
