AUSTIN -- You're invited to show your school spirit and wear a college T-shirt on May 4, 2012 as part of GenTX Day. The hope is that everyone in Texas wears college t-shirts, sparking conversations and personal stories of college, choices, and careers.
Generation TX seeks to inspire Texas students to pursue higher education, especially first generation students whose parents may not have had that opportunity. The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board created the program to start a grassroots movement to create a college-going and career-ready culture across the state. The initiative helps students and their families better understand the process of preparing for, applying to and paying for college.
GenTX Day celebrates and congratulates the students of Generation TX, especially the graduates preparing to go to college and begin career training.
