Lung disease is something that affects everyone at some point in their life, whether it's asthma, bronchitis or lung cancer.

This weekend hundreds will hit the stairs inside one of Austin's tallest buildings to help in the prevention, control and cure of lung disease.

Miss Austin, Callie Thompson, and chair of the Fight for Air Climb, Mary Partridge ,spoke to KVUE about the event.

It will take place on Saturday, May 19 at the Frost Bank Tower. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. The first climbers will go up at 9 a.m. For more information click here.

KVUE's Jessica Vess is on the Leadership Council for the American Lung Association chapter in Austin and will emcee the event.
