AUSTIN -- The Martin Luther King, Jr. Day parade kicked off a day of events Monday morning.
The parade started at 9 a.m. at the MLK statue on the UT campus. Marchers then headed to the south steps of the Capitol building for a gospel concert before going to the Huston-Tillotson University campus, where the annual celebration lasted until 3 p.m.
KVUE's Quita Culpepper served as emcee for the event at the Capitol.
