How to get through traffic for Rodeo Austin

AUSTIN--Rodeo goer's listen up, the event kicks off Saturday, March 10 and if you're headed that way the route you're used to may be affected by some road work.

Rodeo Austin kicks off Saturday, March 10, and if you're headed that way the route you're used to may be impacted by some road work.

There's a lot of construction this year on U.S. 183, and it's adding changes to the typical route.

Southbound 183 traffic is closed, and drivers can no longer make a left on Loyola Lane.

It is the same situation for northbound US-183: making a left on Loyola Lane is a no-go, and your right lane is a "right turn only."

So, this is what drivers will need to do to get to the rodeo:

  • Take the FM-969 exit if traveling northbound on US-183.
  • If you're traveling southbound, use the US-290 exit to Johnny Morris Road or Decker Lane.
