Two Austin-area tech companies plan on laying off nearly 200 employees in the next couple of months, according to documents filed with the Texas Workforce Commission.

According to records, Novitex Enterprise Solutions, Inc.'s Round Rock location is set to lay off 86 employees by Nov. 5 while Oracle America, Inc.'s Austin location will lay off 108 people by Oct. 31. It is not clear which positions will be affected by the layoffs.

The news comes as Oracle is currently developing a new corporate campus on 27 acres overlooking Lady Bird Lake, according to KVUE's news partners at the Austin American-Statesman. Oracle is laying people off as part of a reduction.

The Statesman said Novitex has made the decision based off of a "sudden and unexpected loss of its contract with Dell Inc." But Novitex may offer transfers to some affected employees to other locations nearby.
